Why CPR = “I Want You Back?” Explaining CPR
https://youtube.com/shorts/YEh8FmS4dmo?si=gjmN9aaq5MzLgf_f
CPR, medically, stands for Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. It is a medical skill performed by professional rescuers, lay rescuers, family members or bystanders. It is performed when someone is presenting as being in Cardiac Arrest; Their heart is no longer functioning as a pump.
When chest compressions are provided, the goal is to compress the heart muscle between the person's sternum (breastbone) and their spine. This causes blood to be pushed out the the pumping chambers of the heart muscle to cause mechanical circulation to take place.
Circulating blood is life, so the act of performing CPR (chest compressions) is affirming value to life.
That is the equivalent of saying, "I Want You Back!"
