30 Sep Stop the Bleed and save a life!
Stop the Bleed training (STB) is a nationally recognized curriculum intended to educate and practically show how (potentially) live-saving skills – during a major trauma incident – can be utilized by non-professional rescuers. Through the use of proper tourniquet use, hemostatic dressings and/or other skills, loss of limb and/or loss of. life can be substantially decreased during an active shooter or mass casualty incident. And though this training is listed under current International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) sponsored CPR/Basic First Aid class guidelines, Shawn Ritchey L.I.V.E. believes strongly to provide dynamic, practical, and tailored training to teach beyond corporate, local, state or federal guidelines.
To that end, Shawn Ritchey L.I.V.E. has taken the Stop The Bleed curriculum and added some basic understanding to concepts of Triage (the sorting or prioritizing of injury), added pictures to demonstrate blood-loss, and added information on the signs and symptoms to shock that are not part of the current national curriculum.
Shawn Ritchey L.I.V.E. also has created a separate set of manikins that more realistically create scenarios to students dealing with such incidents of: gun shot,; penetrating objects; chainsaw incident to upper leg, amputation, etc. Plan on adding about 1 hour to standard class time when requesting this dynamic and invaluable training.
