Don’t Confuse Patronizing as Comfort Care. A Lesson in How to Say Something

In my last post I asked if our spoken words matter. Does what we say matter? I also said, "Whether we believe strongly in free-speech, and I believe we should, the question I often ask myself is not, 'Can I say that,' but 'Do I need to say that?'"

This post continues by now suggesting that how we say something is just as important as what we say. So please don't mistake patronizing with comfort care.

I invite you to watch the video for clarity on my last point. In this video I demonstrate a stroke as an example of how some can mistake patronizing with comfort care when attempting to "care" for the individual.

This is the 11th video in a series I've titled, "the first seven essential items in my first aid kit." The seventh are cravats (review past videos if you don't know what a cravat is). Sixth are hemostatic dressings while the fifth are tourniquets.

Comfort care is my number four as I see it as the central, or heart, of all other items I "carry' in my first aid kit. If you look at my playlist under the above title you will also notice that I've included two supplemental videos (3b and 4b) that offer additional and important information.

I also invite you to subscribe to my YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@shawnritcheyLIVE/playlists

I welcome feedback and even suggestions on other subjects you'd hope I'd cover as it relates to first aid, or how God and first aid are intertwined.
