MEET SHAWN

Meet Shawn Ritchey

I am a follower of Yeshua (Jesus) Messiah (Christ). My Beloved bride is Tori and our sons are Paxton and Gideon. They are each amazing and gifted in many different ways and I am a better person for each one of them being in my life.

My skillset is a Speaker and Writer. My business is called Shawn Ritchey L.I.V.E. LIVE stands for Link, Inspire, Value, Educate.

Link, because I see connections all around me, even seemingly unrelated things.

Inspire, because God so loved the world that He gave… That invites and inspires me to draw closer to Him and with others.

Value, because the “others” I just mentioned are any of you who I am given the privilege to know or at least have our paths cross.

Educate, because my conviction is that knowledge will only be beneficial if it is remembered, seasoned with wisdom, and shared with others.

This, collectively, leads me to what I refer to as my purpose statement. My purpose statement is: I commit to equip and inspire others to remember what’s been shared, so that a life – yours or someone you know or come upon – can be improved, made well, or kept safe. And may improvement, or wellness, or remaining safe happen emotionally, physically, and spiritually for any of you who have need.

I seek to live out this purpose statement as a Speaker and Writer.

But the journey of those words being connected for me began nearly forty years ago shortly after I arrived in Seattle, in the mid 1980s, to join Taproot Theatre Company. I was introduced to the idea that theatre could accomplish far more than simply entertain someone. It could profoundly educate and impact others.

The 1990s took an unusual turn away from theatre as I was trained and worked as a firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). But this new vocation simply helped reinforce my love of people, and desire to be a part of resuscitating lives on several different levels. While still remaining an EMT, and been recently licensed as a Massage Therapist (LMT) in the early 2000s I was given the opportunity to teach a basic CPR/First Aid class. That enclosed a vocational circle that had begun a decade earlier by creating opportunities to blend my theatrical skills, emergency services experience, LMT knowledge, along with a growing conviction to make links through educational sharing with others in ways that can equip and inspire. Energized Education You’ll Remember!

Whether through speaking or writing, if there is anything I can do to equip and inspire you, please let me know. I’d rejoice with you if your life – or someone you know – can be improved, made well, or kept safe, emotionally, physically, or spiritually. I invite you to contact me, peruse my website, or look for my book First Aid; It’s a God Thing soon as I hope to have it published in the near future.

Thanks so much.

Shawn

Speaker and Writer.

SPEAKER:

I believe knowledge is only beneficial if it is remembered, seasoned with wisdom, impacts us enough to change as well as share what we’ve learned with others.
Specializing in safety and wellness subjects for more than 25 years, Shawn has dynamically equipped others throughout the Pacific Northwest, and internationally to Burundi, Africa. Blending professional theatre, three decades in pre-hospital care, over 15 as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Shawn is capable and committed to providing energized education you’ll remember.
Whether instructing a course or sharing at a conferences or special event, my commitment to you is to provide connection, and zeal with knowledge, so that those listening can be equipped and inspired to remember what has been shared. In this we hope that a life –yours or someone else’s – can be improved, made well or kept safe. May this be so whether emotionally, physically, or spiritually.

WRITER:

Shawn naturally sees links with things that don’t initially appear to be linked. But more on that in a moment. Shawn’s writing started 25 years ago when he was asked to write a few safety articles, mostly first aid related, while involved with a safety training agency in Seattle, WA. It was a task that needed to be done. But a few years later he was compelled to write monologues about lesser-known biblical characters and has performed some at various Christian events.

Over the past decade his writing has focused on these two seemingly unrelated topics of First Aid and intimacy with God which Shawn sees intertwining extensively. And in 2022 Shawn was commissioned to write a first aid manual for Sister Connection, a Christian organization who raises up widows and orphans in Burundi, Africa. http://sisterconnection.org.

This has compelled him to return to an idea that was conceived in 2020 of writing a first aid manual which blends current international guidelines with the timeless truths of God’s Word to show that God is the originator of all good gifts including the care for an ill or injured person. Look for First Aid; It’s a God Thing in the near future.

Shawn equips and inspires others through courses or presentations.
